Problem solved

Problem solved. It was a bad fuse (15 Amp) on the Ford side, located in the fuse box under the steering wheel.
Thanks for your help!

I have a 2010 Winn View 24K and had the same problem... until I read this post. I went to Napa and bought the ST95 solenoid (copper contacts but with the grounded feature) for $32.00 and it fixed my battery boost/mode problem instantly. I held the switch down for about 5 seconds and it cranked up without hesitation! Thanks a million to all of you for posting this information!

For those of you with the Winn view, the battery boost solenoid is the one closest to the passenger door under the passenger seat. This should also fix my charging of coach batteries off the alternator as well, correct?

Yes it should! Check the coach battery voltage at the panel with the engine off, then check it again with the engine running. It should go up quite a bit.

Thanks to all of you, I'm on the road with my new-to-me 2005 Cambria 26a and have had the same problem with my Trombetta 936-1215-011-21 solenoid. I replaced it with the Echlin ST95 and all seems to be well now. Anyone know if this will eventually go too since it's only rated for 80 amps?

Thanks

Looks like I have the same issues; went out and got the ST80. When I pulled out the original (2004 Winnebago Minnie), the yellow wire that goes to the center terminal also connects to the left mounting screw for the solenoid with a short, white jumper wire that also heads into the harness. Any one else encounter this? I'm not sure where to connect the ground terminal of the ST80 ........ maybe direct to the house battery ground or some other ground site? Has any one else encountered this?
Thanks,
Marty

Marty57 From the factory the battery mode solenoid had one Yellow wire number (LR) connected to the center small terminal. This is the power input for the relay. There was also a flyback diode connected there, this maybe the white wire you are seeing. On the original solenoid the case was ground for the coil. On the ST80 you will have to run a wire from one of the small terminals on the solenoid to one of the mounting bolts to supply the ground for the coil. The yellow wire cannot not be connected to ground.

Grant,
Thanks for the diagram; that helped. I figured that was a diode in the line; I couldn't find that diagram in my wiring book. I hooked up the ST80 with a ground wire from the ground terminal to the attaching screw opposite the side with the diode. Powered it up and everything now good. Thanks for the quick info. Where did you find the diagram you posted, good to know in the future.

Thanks,
Marty

Marty57, I didn't know if you had a 2004 431C or a 331C but here is the link to electrical drawings. Look up your year and model then look in the "Body, 12 Volt Wiring Diagram" sht 1

Grant,
I have the 331C, 2004. Next project is replacing a bad coax antenna cable. This should be fun! I'll check out the diagram and see if it's the same as I have. Thanks
Marty
