My '04 Brave seems to be the only Winnebago in my state-wide WIT club that came w/o a CB antenna.

Anyone know if antennas are supposed to be "standard equipment?"

I checked the specs for the Brave and the CB antenna and wiring is an option.

Actually you are much better off NOT having the standard Winnie CB antenna. The spring at the base of mine started rusting quickly when the coach was new and it is now an ugly rusty mess.

Try to find a CB antenna designed for marine application (i.e., mounting on fiberglass and not metal.) It will probably be much higher quality without the rust issue.

Buy the best quality coax you can find - I always like to use Belden products. Avoid using Rat Shack coax if at all possible - they are generally of very, very poor quality.

Was on the roof of my 2006 Vectra yesterday and in 6 months the CB antenna spring is also an ugly mess. (as well as the Kingdome HAZE COLOR dome...)

Avoid using Rat Shack coax if at all possible - they are generally of very, very poor quality.

MORE good advice!!

We've had our Voyage for 5 months now, and our CB antenna spring base is an ugly rusty mess also....

The CB antenna spring rusted on every new Winnebago coach I've purchased in less than 6 months.

This Fall I'll stop at one of the interstate CB shops and buy a better spring.

Thanks to all for advice.

Actually, I want install my amateur service 2M rig. The only magnetic place on the coach is the chassis.

Freddy - Forget a mag-mount! Use a standard car/van application antenna that uses some kind of mechanical mounting.. Just add a 1/4 wave, 1/2 wave or whatever counterpoise (radials) from the base of the antenna - use two or three. It can be 22 gauge wire or what's in the junk box. I used a "Simson Strong Tie" metal plate for a counterpoise for the XM antenna I moved to the top of the coach recently.

Another choice for the 2M antenna is a through the glass antenna. Several manufacturers make a pretty good one.

Looks like I'm going to have to make a trip to a "big city" ham store.
