I like what you did with the cameras. It certainly protects them from the elements.

I have them ounted outside on each side aimed back along the sides - sideview cameras. They let me see someone coming up the right side (in particular). If someone enters a freeway along side of the motorhome, I can see them easily before changing lanes to the right.

A couple questions for pace89.

1/ What brand, type, etc., of camera's did you use?

2/ Can all GPS's be used for the screen, how, etc.? I have a Garmen 660.

I'm not too electronic savey but I can learn. Looks like an interesting project.

Hi Daysu47. Camera is from "Harbor Freight" link below shows one similar to the one I used. It has a lot of cable so there should be no issue with cable length. - Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices. Requires 115V to operate. I have a power strip plugged in to the 300 watt inverter that easily powers 32" LCD/DVD-VCR/Camera. I do not think all Gps devices have an A/V in port. The one that I am using is a fairly new model "Magellan" Roadmate 1700 with 7" display screen. Good Luck.

Hi W8rlm. I originally wanted to mount the camera outside but could not decide on a location. Do you have any photos of your installation/setup?

pace89, ya got me started.......

Went to Fry's Electronic's Saturday, checked out their security cameras, etc., and they it was. The wife says, why do you need that?? I said, "cuz"!

It was a security camera kit with 2 cameras AND a 6" B&W monitor all for $70.00!!!

I was jazzed!

Had to make special ABS brackets but mounted easily to the window frame. I get the same views you referenced in your message. Monitor works great even came with audio, but really didn't need that. Even got a 150w inverter, $24.00, and mounted it so I could switch it on or off from the drivers seat instead of using the built in 2000w.

Is it possible to add the cameras to the system that is already installed? I have a sony built in.

I have the same question. Our monitor has an additional port to add another signal input, I just do not know where adapters are available at to make the connections. Can anyone suggest a source?
