“Battery minder” Connections W/ solar and AiLi

I have two questions I’m hoping someone smarter than me can answer. Attached is a diagram of my wiring.

I have a battery minder that I want to connect in and I’m pretty sure where to connect it but....

I also have a solar system that I’m wondering if it should be left connected or should be disconnected when the battery minder is connected. I have a switch in line before it’s controller so it’s easy to turn off or on.

Final consideration is the AiLi “fuel gauge/battery monitor”. It wants to see all the energy going in or out of the batteries.

Thoughts and suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

In general, solar charge controllers are smart chargers. They connect directly to your battery bank and are smart enough to turn off when your batteries are fully charged.

The minder should be connected exactly like the solar charge controller to the bank’s neg and pos output.

Are you sure you need both. I store my RV outdoors and have 300w of solar. I turn off the main disconnect when I store my RV and even after three months storage my bank is always fully charged with just the solar.

But I live in Texas and it doesn’t snow so nothing blocks my solar panels from the sun.

Snow snow and now rain

We just got finished with about a foot of snow. I cleaned off the top of the RV and noticed my batteries were down to about 90%.

I’m not too worried about keeping them charged as I think the solar, even with all the cloud cover we get this time of year, will bring them back up. I’m more interested in the process the Minder uses. I think it should be beneficial.

As creativepart said the solar should be direct to the bank. It will maintain as needed if it gets sunlight. You should also put a breaker in the solar panel controller output to protect that wiring.

Batteries working like a deep hole

I've hooked up the battery minder as suggested. Neg to Neg and Pos to Pos. My solar is definitely not keeping the batteries charged. Im down another couple percent and still no sun :(

As suggested I do have fusing to protect the wiring.

Thanks
