This is what I suspected you meant. I would recommend inline current measurement to be more accurate, if you have the equipment available.
I have found the clamp on probes to be reasonably accurate when measuring AC currents, but not DC. You will not get any decent resolution with a DC Clamp-on probe at lower currents.
