Battery amp hours

I see that the Winnebago Tour is coming with glass-matt (spelling) batteries. Does anyone know the amp hours? Can't seem to find that info.

Winnebago doesn't make the batteries. You need to "Google" the battery manufacturers, there may be several.

I just purchased 2 Lifeline AGM 24 for my house batteries. No maintenance, carefree a big deal for me. AMP hours are 100. The more you spend the more AMP hours you can get. These are NOT cheap batteries, but you get 5 years of no maintenance plus...that was worth it for me!

I hear ya. I upgraded the batteries in our current coach to 4 Lifeline 6CT batteries at $400 each. The 4 provide us with 600 amp hours. Of course not all of that is available because you never want to run them gown that far.
We also added 560 watts of solar up top which we will swap to the new coach.
That's why I'm trying to figure out what come with the Winnebago so I know what I will need to do battery wise if anything. We like to boondock and batteries are important.
Is there a info number a person can call to find out with Winnebago I wonder?

My Winny came with 2 wet cell 80amp batteries when new. We do not boony much, but others here on IRV do. Do a search on this site for more input. I have seen some brand new 2014 Winnebago's (gas) with Residential refers installed they have a separate bank of batteries with a much larger inverter, just to power the refer. Should be interesting come time to replace those!

Amp hours for AGM (Glass mat) batteries EXCEPT OPTIMA are the same as other types of the same size.

Group 24 about 75 AH
Group 27, Just under 100
Group 29, Just over
Group 31, About 130
GC-2 (You need two of these six volt in series) 230

Optima, Multiply the above by 0.60 (60%)

Please advise brand and model group 31 with 130 amp hours. I'd be interested in any Group 31 wet or agm that is close to that.
*********************************
For the record...here are the 20ah specs for Lifeline, Trojan and EastPenn/Deka Deep Cycle AGM's of various sizes.

Lifeline Group 24 80...Group27 100...Group 31 105....Group8D...255...6VGolfCart...225

Trojan Group 24 76...Group27 89...Group 31 100....Group8D...230...6VGolfCart...200

Deka
Group 24 79...Group27 89...Group 31 105....Group8D...245...6VGolfCart...190

For what it is worth...larger coach owners might consider single 8D Lifeline AGM instead of 6Volts as on a cost per amphour and amp hours per cubic inch basis..the two are equal and there is less complexity to the 8D if you can get it lifted in place!

Thank you John...but as your spec sheet says...that is a group 30h and it is slightly larger than the Group 31. The Trojan Group 31 that Trojan makes (AGM only) is 105 a/h's.
Your's is close enough that if space permits it is an excellent choice. Most places are around $225 for those!

So Winnebago uses 12 volt correct? I use 6volt in our current coach. I wonder how much would be gained by going to 6 volt batteries in the tour?

Nothing. Assuming you end up with the same amp hours. The advantage in 6V vs. true 12V deep cycle is negligible or non existent on a performance basis. The advantage is primarily is cost from Sam's or Costco which does not carry TRUE 12V deep cycles and DOES carry 6V heavily discounted.
EXAMPLE Trojan AGM's selling at ebatteriestogo.com
TWO Group 31AGM's...1630 cu. inches...210 AmpHours@12V... $528
TWO Group GC2 6V....1570 cu. inches...200 AmpHours@12V...$680
Plus extra battery cable...and unusable if ONE fails.

This advantage entirely disappears when comparing 6V from Costco/Sams to true deep cycle 12V from elsewhere.
