Anyone install a Trik-l-start in 29VE?

Hi Guys,

Has anyone installed a Trik-l-start in their 29VE? I'm hoping that someone can help me with the location of the battery isolation switch since I've not been able to find it in the Winnebago electrical wiring diagram.

And of course, any stories of how it went for you and where you installed the Trik-l-start would be most appreciated!

Not in a 29VE but put on in my RV (32K). I went directly to the batteries and didn't try to use the isolator. Not sure if that helps any. I think I'd have had to wire too far from where I wanted to install the monitor to get to the isolator as they were futher forward from my batteries.

Not sure what year you have but this may help too. https://www.winnebagoind.com/diagram...e29ve_wire.htm

I'm guessing based on this it's in the compartment on the drivers side opposite your battery compartment. https://www.winnebagoind.com/diagram/2017/000201390.pdf

Hi Thom, if nobody with a 29VE has solved this installation at the isolator, then sounds like the easiest way to do it. Were you able to mount the Trik-l-start somewhere so it could be seen or did you even care? I'm not sure seeing it is important once you know it's working.

My RV has an electrical cabinet (shallow) with the breakers and fuzes on the inside under the fridge. I wanted to be able to monitor the device without going outside so I wired it up into there. You're right I don't look at it too often, but at least I can see or hear clicking if needed from inside. I installed it after leaving the RV in storage for a week and coming back to a dead battery. Now I don't worry too much about it as we don't leave in storage too often.

Page 1 of the Chassis Wiring Installation diagram for your coach shows the Chassis Electrical Box on the left hand side of the coach, opposite the entry door and a little bit to the rear. Page 2 of the Chassis Electrical Box Assembly diagram shows the battery boost solenoid on the left, which is where the Trik-L-Start can be connected.

Thank you Chris, I looked for this type of drawing on the Winnebago site and just didn't find them. I appreciate you posting the links for me. I'll take a peek at my rig to make sure it matches and then will order up the Trik-l-start.

Side note: I went with the Amp-L-Start. I think it just puts a bit more charge to the chassis battery.

Dennis,

I went with the Amp-L-Start and my mechanic installed it directly to the batteries.
