Antenna Replacement ?

I have a 2008 View,I'm going to replace my current antenna (don't ask why ).
I'm undecided between the stock replacement ,a Winegard RVW 205 and a
King Jack OA8000.

Anyone care to chime in on witch way to go ?
I will use your input to help make a final decision.

Hmmm...I’m guessing it jumped up and hit a branch.
I would stick with the same one if you were happy with it.

Depends on how much you need to replace. If the original Winegard lift arms and such are intact you could roll the dice as the expression goes and put the King Jack head on the Winegard masts however if you need to replace the entire unit and not just the head then going with a new Winegard would be the safe bet. When I replaced the head on the circa 2000 Winegard Sensar on my coach with a new one with the Wingman I was very pleasantly surprised how much the reception improved. I get better reception from the Winegard when the RV is at the house than from the homes antenna up on a 20 foot mast.

Trying to skirt around the why part as best I can here.

Thank you both for responding to my situation .

I decided to go with the King Jack ,I don't see much difference between the two,as far as reception ,according to reviews and specs.
I'm thinking about changing to a TV with a little larger screen and a DVD player .

Do they still make DVD players? I would go BlueRay for better future compatibility, newer features and internet content options.

KING JACK and a new digital signal strength amp

I replaced my crank up bat antenna with a Jack c/w booster. Works like a charm and never have to remember to crank in down!! I think you made the right choice. I also replaced my old TV with a 32" Samsung, smart TV. Great for streaming movies if you have your own WiFi service.

You may find that you many times don't need to crank up the BatWing either. I try it down first and usually don't have to bother cranking it up except for when I am really out on the fringe in the wilderness.
