Advice Wanted On Switching from 12V Btteries to 6V Battries
Trying to convert from 12v to 6volt chassis... Anyone have suggestions as to where to mount extra 6volts in a 2001 Journey DL....

Why convert chassis battery to 6v? Most use 12v - single 12v battery if gas engine, and two 12v battery in parallel if diesel engine.
Converting 12v house battery to multiple 6v batteries is common.

If you have 3-12 volt batteries on the house slide tray you can install 4 6 volt GC batteries. Here is one like, but do a search for others.
If you have the smaller 2 battery tray you're probably out of luck. Then look at the t1275 from Trojan.

1st we need to know what 01 Journey you have. 32, 36, 39 foot?
You said Chassis batteries. You want 2 each Group 31, 12 Volt starting batteries to start your engine. (900 plus cold cranking). I know of no advantage to having 6 volt starting batteries.
The only reason for going to 6 volt would be for your HOUSE batteries. The 6 volt golf cart batteries are true deep cycle that are better suited to run your house requirements.
The reason I ask for your coach model as mine is a 32T and I had to alter the battery tray to fit 4 each GC 12 volt true deep cycle battery. I've read on this website that some of the 36 plus foot Winnebagos of that era, have a battery tray large enough for 4 each, 6 volt golf cart batteries.
If you are new to RV batteries I suggest to search and read:
The 12 Volt Side of Life, parts 1 and 2.
Good information is layman's terms.
Go to the user cp and put all your coach info as it makes it easier for us to answer your questions.

Edit: I had to alter my battery tray to 4 each, 6 volt golf cart batteries.
To fit I had to add approximately 1" to the width. In the picture it is the dark space in the middle of the tray. I understand larger Journey's of era had larger trays to accomadate 4 golf cart batteries.

Coach Battery storage issue
Charles,
Splitting the tray's width, coupled with elongating the length 10" is the Perfect solution to my Coach battery issue. This creates enough room to fit all six 6V batteries in the top tray. Thank you for your input, Rattleback

Rattleback:
Caution: By adding 3 each, 6 volt batteries, you will be exceeding the weight capacity by a large margin. Even the additional 1 battery exceeds the weight limitation slightly. You may want to reconsider the 6 and settle for 4, 6 volt. The 4 will give you up to use able 200 Amp hours. I have a residential fridge and 200 amp hours gives me 20 plus hours before recharging.
If you want more detailed information on increasing the tray size, search my old posts dated 11-20-2015 and you will get a step by step process.
