Your chassis battery does get charged from both the engine alternator (when the engine is running) and when plugged into shore power. There is 1 page publication in section 6 of your supplemental owners manual (Precision Circuits Inc. Battery Isolation Manager Operation) describing how and when the chassis battery is charged from shore power. It isn't being continually charged like the older systems. The battery voltage is monitored and the battery is only charged when it falls below a certain level.
I didn't think our charging system was working properly either until I read through the manual. Once I understood how it was supposed to work I monitored it several times throughout the day and found it was working properly.
There is no need to add any equipment to charge the chassis battery.
