In Winnebago's with basement air, it will run just fine on 30 amp service. The Energy Management System will shed some loads temporarily if the total current exceeds 30 amps, including the #2 compressor. So when microwave or hair drier is done, the #2 compressor will come back on.

I think some motorhomes with 2 roof air units do have trouble running on 30 amps.

The type of filter is important as you need the least restrictive filtration possible. The cheap "angel hair" style works best. There have been several people that have had cooling problems using more restrictive filaters. It will need to be changed very frequently. I do mine every month or so under regular usage.

Good luck,
Dave

It isn't a good design, and many RV service shops ate afraid of it. You are lucky to be in Mesa, where they know something about A/C. The whole unit needs to be pulled from your coach basement to get to the evaporator coil to clean it. Takes about 40 minutes out and 40 minutes back in. And two guys. Do a search,on here, there is a link to a really good write-up with pictures on how to get it out. Oops. See Duners post. He's the guru.
