200W Solar Panels

Hi folks,

I知 looking to by a suitcase model, portable 200W solar panel to hook up to my 26HE. Planning on doing a lot more boondocking. I値l be charging 4, 6volt golf cart batteries wired to produce 12 volts.

Anyway, I致e read reviews until I知 blind and can稚 seem to focus on a product . I want one that I can hard wire a connection port to the side of the RV, then I can just plug in and set up. I want a 200W system with included controller etcetera.

Any recommendations welcome.

Thanks in advance.

A 200W panel will take a long, long, day/week of perfect sun to recharge that sized battery bank. You might get 10A of current out of it in great sun.
I might rethink that part a bit.
If you're talking a Vista/Sunstar 26HE, you've got lots of real estate up top. Why not use it, and go for 600W to 800W worth of panels (more is better)? 800W will get you about 40A of power in good sun, and that will at least help with recharging. I guess it will come down to how depleted your usable 450Ah worth of batteries get, after whatever your normal usage might be?

I agree more is better, but to answer your question the Zamp SAE port is the only one I know of that can be mounted to the side of your coach easily.

Make sure the suitcase panels you purchase have a built in solar charge controller or you’ll have to buy and install one of those too.

I put a portable/folding 200 watt system together this past October for around $400.00. Here's a poorly crafted video of it.

I had earlier installed a power feed cable to run my air compressor and macerater pump. I use that same cable to connect the power from the charge controller to the batteries. A small system but that's all we need for now.
There's links to the components on the YouTube page
