1991 Winnebago Warrior : Battery mode switch ?

Hello

I am an happy owner of a 1991 Winnebago Warrior.

The operations manual indicate that this switch will connect both batteries to the engine alternator to charge the 2 batteries when I am running the main engine.

Unfortunatly I can not see any difference when I use this switch and the auxilliary battery is not charging when the main engine is running.

+

I expected the generator to charge both the engine battery and the auxilliary battery but it charges only the aux battery.

I have no idea of the issue...

Any help or information from a Warror's owner will be welcome.

Thanks in advance and sorry for my poor english.

The generator (or shore power) will NOT charge the engine battery. I am new to this and am learning. I discovered this by accident. My electric steps quit working and I had to use the house batteries to start the engine (your MOM switch).

Frankly, I don't know if the reverse is true where the engine alternator will charge both the house and engine batteries. I have solar that charges the house batteries but there seems no easy way to take advantage of the free electrons to charge the engine battery.

Hi !
Thanks for your help.
It should charge both batteries when the switch is set on DUAL.

My plan is to replace the old solenoid dispatcher by this battery combiner used by many sailors to charge there park of batteries.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...92LFYKXB&psc=1

This will automaticly charge all the batteries to there best level and could be combined for starting the engine.

Will install it this summer so any RV user-feedback will be welcome.

Your OP said that they weren't getting charged, so I am confused. When in DUAL are all batteries getting charged on your particular RV or not?

Sorry for my poor english.

As I said in my 1st post : It does not : Only the engine battery is charging even in DUAL mode.

I found the electric diagram so I have to check on board now but my idea after a long reflexion is to use a modern battery combiner in replacement for the manual solenoid.
