14V4W light bulbs

2014 Journey 34B aisle light is not working. Anyone have a source for this bulb? We're on the Beach in Seward Alaska and the local NAPA couldn't even cross reference it. 14 Volt 4 Watt bulbs in an RV, things that make you go Hmmmmmmm. 😳

If you take a bulb with you to NAPA, I bet they can match it. 14 v is probably the confusion. RV is called 12 v system, but in reality is more like 13.5 v or more when on converter/charger. The thing to match up is the base configuration and the 4 watt power.

If it's a wedge shaped base, this is the meaning of the numbers:

Thanks Bob, it's a Festoon base bulb. Took it to NAPA with me and they were no help. Surfing the Webb is producing about the same results. What the heck, I'm retired and always liked a good challenge so I'll keep looking. 😃

I know it won't be immediate, but here's Ebay's listing for LED festoon bulb:

Thanks Chris, didn't even know that forum existed. Lots of useful information. Think I'll sign up for it too.

Go to M4-Products and replace it with a LED. The 4500K color temperature is very pleasant. Very close to daylight. I have replaced most of my bulbs with LED's. I thought your coach had LED's?

Thanks Rick, ceiling lights are all LEDs, but the 2 step lights and the floor light in the hall between the kitchen and bedroom all have the 14 Volt 4 Watt bulbs. I'll check out the 4M Products and maybe just replace all 3 fixtures.

Your welcome Dennis. Don't get thrown by the "14 V". That design is simply labeling that the manufacturer used to say that their bulb would last longer than a 12 V one. The length and diameter are more important in a 12VDC LED replacement. M4 should be able to supply your needs. Look forward to hearing about your resolve.

So, after reading this forum today, I took a gander at my ceiling lights. My coach is only 18 months old and I've already replaced two of those little halogen g4 babies that I found at a NAPA for about 8 bucks.
So, when I looked up I noticed 7 bulbs not working. You know, with 64 of those things you hardly notice when they're burned out. So, as I began to twist off the cover to the first bulb...it came back on (loose connection?), so I repeated the process 7 times!!! They all came back on. Out of pocket expense $0. Laughter???Should I be laughing? Is it the base that is loose or just the design of those little 2 prong bulbs. They came back on before I could even wiggle the bulb...just repositioned the cover.

enjoy...
