Wiper Motor Mount Issue

So the bottom stud on the wiper motor sheared off. I've had my head under there and looks hard to get those wiper arms removed. So, could I just drill it out and put a bold in instead. Looks like there is a gear housing, but that stud is on the bottom. The top 2 studds still look to be holding on.

Anyone change the wiper motor?

Hi

Anyone change the wiper motor on a 2002 Horizon (34HD) series coach. I have the replacement part - which is a bolt on unit. But the original studded unit looks pressed on. I have a broken stud, so now the motor is not holding firm. So wondering how to go about this.

Older part:
4 104346-05-000 EA WIPER MOTOR - W/INTERNAL BREAKER - DYNAMIC PARK - FORD

Delivered part:
14940901-01-000 WIPER MOTOR - DYNAMIC PARK - D101
Wexco D101 Motor

jhanan, The original wiper motor was a Ford part. Can you find a part number on the old one?
This is from the Winnebago online store. Diesel Wexco D101 Motor for Windshield Wipers : Winshield Wipers & Washers
Motor for windshield wipers. Purchase drive arm nut locally 8MM/1.25MM thread. Winnebago Industries part number 149409-01-000.

"Windshield wiper motor
Drive arm nut is 8 MM x 1.25 MM thread- purchase locally
If replacing older motor some modification to the mouting bracket may be required
Winnebago Industries Part Number 149409-01-000"

I just have the Winnabago part numbers both old a new. I could not see a part number on the current motor but I have not removed it yet. It looks like I have to grind it out?

Asking if anyone has done this replacement and used the new bolt on motor.

Thanks, Jeff

OK, so ready to remove the old motor - the issue is the top 2 bolts are loose and the bottom bolts is sheared off.

How do you take the wiper arms off the drive arm?

Do they just snap off if pried off the drive arm?

Hi jahanan,
If you haven't already, be sure to take a picture of the linkage connecting the wipers to the motor on the inside of the hood. It can be rather confusing when reconnecting everything. If I remember correctly the wiper blades arms just pry off.

This picture may help when reconnecting the linkage to the motor. The wiper blades arms are positioned at the office position.

I used a large flat screwdriver and gently pryed while turning the screwdriver. Sorry about the picture. I will try again.

Jhanan,
If you go to this page you will find the picture I was trying to post.http://www.irv2.com/forums/f63/pictu...ml#post2999608

This is what your motor linkage should look like when the wipers are off and in the stowed position on your windshield.
