Winnebago 2000 Basement Air
How do you regulate the cool? It seems to be on or off. Is there some trick to setting temp to one setting and it keeps things regulated day or night? Or is just off or on how it is?????

What rig do you have? I picked a 2000 Journey and took a look at the manual. It has a thermostat with 4 options, on/low on/high auto/low and auto/high. The thermostat works with all the settings, but the fan will cycle also with the auto setting but stay on low or high with the other settings.

Mine has a thermostat unit similar to a residential unit. Sometimes you will have to lower the temperature during hot days but other than that it cycles on and off just like a residential unit.

homeless,
I owned a '99 Chieftain with 2 roof units and now a 2004 with basement air. Both coaches came with Coleman Mach thermostat.
If your unit is cooling constantly without cycling, you may have a big leak in the rear ducting. Lots cold air may be escaping in the rear cap. I've had to repair mine 3 times over the last 11 yrs. Makes a really big difference when your getting all the cold air when the temps are in the 90's or more.
If you have the Coleman Mach t-stat, they are notorious for problems with the function slide switch. Sometimes you have to tweek the switch to get it in the right mode. I've replace the stock Coleman on both of my coaches with a nice one from Home Depot. If you want to go that route, I have a connection diagram for hookup.

On my basement air, it works just like home ac unit, choosing auto fan set and desired temp.however it does sometimes hang up and not turn off or on as it should...I just up or down the temp selector till it turns off or on and it's good again...probably needs new thermistat...but I am not up to that challenge yet...

No I haven't, it looks complicated but might consider it in the future.
