Windshield wiper issue on 2008 Journey 39Z

Whenever I encounter wind and heavy rain, my driver side wiper goes too far left , over the windshield frame and sticks. It happens at worst times when on interstate or highway that has no shoulder to pull over. In extreme need, had to pull over best as I could, wife jumped out and pulled back. Very dangerous. Its back in shop for what they thought they fixed twice before. Is this a Winnebago design flaw? Greatly appreciate any recommendations on how to finally repair as my rv shop seems baffled.

Driver's side wiper - wipe out

Just had the exact same thing happen to me (same conditions...same results) on my 2010 Itasca Ellipse. I would be curious to know if "they" got it fixed and if so, what was the solution?

Windshield Wiper

The wiper issue is apparently a widespread problem. Winnebago sent our RV shop a modification kit. They told us the wiper arms are too long. My guys had to adjust even with the kit. If you call the Winnebago parts people they will give you details. I keep windshield clean plus Rainex to avoid using much as possible. Hope this helps get yours repaired. I don't need that kind of stress driving on interstate!

Opened up my hood today to see if I could find the problem. Turns out it was a broken pivot shaft (the shaft that the wiper assembly attaches to on the outside.) The good news is it wasn't too hard to pull out the broken one and I was able to find a new replacement part for less than $40. Hopefully it will go back together as easy as it came out.
