Will Air Lift stop dragging

Our SightSeer hitch drags for about 5 feet when backing up our driveway. Will Air Lift raise the coach a few inches to fix this problem?

HUGHP, if that is the only place you are having a problem might look at a hitch roller.

Hughp, you may want to check the level of your coach all around from floor seam to ground and see if you get same measurement at your four tire locations and see if they are equal.
You did not say what chassis you have but suspension springs lose their lift strength over time and will cause other handling problems also.
Here is a post for some other member where I described some problems with chassis and the addition of air-bags and adding of springs on another coach.
You may have a long over hang of rear end that you will need to over come going backward over your driveway before the rear tires can lift rear end up over the slope.
You may gain 3-4 " with the bags fully inflated.

HUGHP, Yes the bags will give you some lift in the back. When we lived in town I add some concrete to the low spot in my drive way. You might want to think about an on board compressor so it will be easier inflate when needed.

I have a very steep driveway and when we acquired our 36' Winnebago Chieftain with almost a 12' overhang past the rear wheels I knew there was no way it would back up our driveway especially with the crown on the street as well. Before I even attempted to back it up I installed a set of air bags on the Ford F53 chassis and pumping them up to 100 psi raised the rear bumper almost 4". This was just enough to clear when I back up at an angle. If I am not careful going down onto the street the trailer hitch may rub slightly. So yes the air bags are my saving grace.

I had the same issue. I entered and exited the driveway at an angle. Worked!

Or,
A lot simpler and, most likely cheaper would be to go to your local lumber yard and, have them cut you a couple of 4"x12" x 5' long and then bevel the ends. Then, all you do is place them in the correct, tactical position to drive on, they will raise your coach considerably and, allow it to get past the danger point of scraping. When done, just stash them someplace.

But, if you feel you'll need to raise the coach in other applications, then maybe the air bag additions would be the appropriate answer.

If you remove the hitch from the receiver will that give you more clearance? As already mentioned, if you have the room, use the angle approach or boards. Unless you are in and out daily it may not be worth the expense.
