What do you use to clean the stainless steel sink?

I recognize the stainless steel used in the kitchen sink is not the highest quality - it sometimes shows some signs of tarnishing (dare I say oxidation?)

What do you use to return the sink to its pristine, like-new condition?

Thanks.

Ours cleans up easily with a scotch-brite pad or even a brillo pad.

The same for us but we use the powder. Around here it is sold in all of the grocery and bix box stores.

Ditto all the above.

Just stay away from any product containing bleach. Steel is alloyed with nickel to make steel "stainless", technically corrosion resistant, or CRES.

Chlorine leaches the nickel from the stainless, allowing oxidation/corrosion.

So will table salt (sodium chloride) and lemon halves which works so well with porcelain sinks. Not for stainless.

Thank you all for your recommendations.

I find the fact about lemons and salt very interesting! We'll have to watch out for that.

We have used Bon-Ami powder quite successfully with stainless steel because it doesn't scratch when it cleans. Most grocery stores sell it.
