Am considering ordering a Trik-L-Start from IRV2 upgrades for our rig to help keep the starting battery charged during times of non-use. For those that have this item, did you mount it in the battery compartment??

Here is where I mounted mine. Out of the way but easy to check on. See pic below in Webshots, folder "Web's Stuff", page 3.

Logthumper,
Did you connect the wires from the Trik-L-Start directly to the batteries or use the ring terminals and connect to the battery isolator?

Try this link on the Winny site.
I mounted mine behind the main fuse panel on my 2005 Vectra. Real easy to get to and check on.
I like Logthumper installation on the 35U gaser.
Reminds me of my previous coach.

I have a 2005 Adventurer 33V and mounted it on the wall with the solenoids and connected it to the leads on the solenoid. That way it is all in one location. I mounted it high enough so I can see the LED's over the top of the panel with the breakers on it without removing it. The device works as advertised.

I had mine done at a dealer and they mounted it by the batteries and that was a mistake. The wires get in the way and are too easy to cut. I had them change it to the box under the hood as the others have said. It seems to work great there.

Hi,

I have an 04 Adventurer and mounted mine in the compartment with the Dust buster and AC ckt panel. I used Velcro to hold it and was able to plug in the AC cord there. Then I ran wire into step area by removing step cover and attavhed cable with tyraps. THen I attachev leads directly to chassis battery. It works great and keeps battery at 13.4 Volts. Also I can watch the indicator lights too.

I mounted mine in the box with the two large main solenoids. On my 96 vectra that was by the entrance door and now on my Horizon it is in the electrical connection bay. Wouldn't be without it after 7 years.

Ordered the Trik-L-Start today from IRV2 UpGrades and right now I'm leaning towards mounting it like LogThumpers pic. The velcro idea also sounds good. haven't decided on whether to connect to the batteries or the isolatoe. Thanks everyon for the input.

In answer to your original question, you can mount it either way. I have mine mounted on the firewall (visible through the grill) and wired to the solenoids. I just checked out Log Thumpers pics and like his idea also. I may move mine so I can monitor it from inside the motorhome.

I would like to mount ours in a location similiar to what your pics show and connect the wires in the battery compartment under the steps. How did u route the wires and where did u have to drill?
