Seems to me i've seen somewhere that there is a weight limit that can be stored in the compartments under the slide...
Does anyone have any hard facts on this? Or am I dreaming.

Could call winnie cept I believe there are knowledgeable people on the forum and easier to get to.. Thanks

Unless the coach builder limited the amount of weight that a compartment could hold due to the construction of the box, It would mainly depend on what your per wheel weight was. I've never heard of a weight limit based on how much capacity a slide mechanism would move. The slide systems, either hydraulic or electric are pretty tough.

I've wondered this too. The Winnie design of attaching the cargo bay to the slideout for easy access has its advantages (as well as some limitations). However the boxes are fully cantilevered off the front of the slideout with no support mid or back. So I would think there's got to be a load limit. Likewise, you'd think Winnie would put a decal on stating so.

ichn2go....

In our Ultimate Advantage, the weight limit is 400lbs on our HWH StoreMor slide.

It's entirely likely that yours is going to be different. I would still waste a call to Winnebago.

I agree with UA40J, my UA has a limit that was posted in the manual somewhere, but I don't recall what it is or where it is. With my poor memory I'm guessing it was in the 200lb range. I live full time in our rig and over time have moved stuff around for efficiency purposes. I have noticed the living room slide clearly retracts slower when the storemore is heavily loaded. I now store heavy winter clothes and a few light Harley items in the storemore and would guess I'm well under my assumed 200 lb limit.

On my (previously owned) 2000 35U, I overloaded the fwd slide Storemore. Broke the "hang" bolts & had to replace them. Altho I don't know the weight limit, I'm very careful (I hope) about the weight now. If those bolts fracture, they can be replaced insitu. Hard to believe, but I watched the Tech do it. I was happy to pay for his expertise.

Jimmy:

During the PDI on our Journey, the dealer guy told us 300 lbs max in the storage under the front slide.

UAs right, the weight limit of the store more living room slide is 400lbs. I pay strict attention to what I load into the slide outs. Kind of a drawback of the system.

You guys are good. Thanks for all the replies.

Gary gets the cigar or at least by what I was told at Winnie which the man could not find documentation for....300lbs Max.For an 02

Someone else was told 400 lbs so they may have increased it...Seems as if the last line in my sig is very meaningful.. Now to go buy some scales so that I can weight everything I put in the three compartments..Ha Ha...

Thanks again folks. Safe Miles

Two different customer service guys told me 300 pounds.
I really did use a digital scale to weigh what I put in mine and I have just under 300 pounds in it.
A little over 30,000 miles and so far so good.
