Squeaky door
Any bright ideas how to eliminate the annoying squeaks from the entry door?

Lubricate the part that is causing the squeaking I would suggest.
Is this a trick question?

Yes, it is a trick question! I've sprayed silicon on the rubber door seal, and it stops squeaking for a couple hours, but gradually starts squeaking again until it's really pretty loud. Fill me in on what else should be lubricated, and with what type of lube so we can have a nice quiet ride.

We had the same problem with the Itasca Horizon we had before our current coach. This will sound strange, but it worked for quite a while. Adjust the latch on the door to make sure it is closing tightly. BUT, it might still squeak some. I then dusted the gasket area with baby powder and it stopped. Need to get a good coat on the rubber surface. I used a dry washcloth as a makeshift powderpuff.

Remember that silicon sprays like WD40 are great for displacing water, and cleaning some surfaces. But they soon evaporate, leaving a dry (and possibly) squeeky part.
It is best to use something that leaves a residue that will coat the surfaces. Sometimes you want a dry lube like graphite, or a greasy like lithum grease.
On metal parts, door locks, etc., I prefer BoeShield T-9 that works like WD40, but leaves a waxy residue. (yes invented by Boeing for aircraft maintenance). Talcum (baby) powder does work great on soft rubber seals and such, if they stay dry!

I've had good luck with a bees wax stick, just rub it on the affected parts. It is friendly to clothes, doesn't stain like graphite and is somewhat resistant to water.

I finally found the squeak on my 04 Adventurer door, I placed a thin layer of tape around the door striker and problem solved!!! I wonder if originally there was some kind of cover plastic around the striker?

I've tried all these fixes thats been talked about, anyway. We had a real surprise after we put Air Tabs on the motorhome. Almost all wind noise while driving in all kinds of weather went away. Beside many other handle issues. One of the many thing that changed was that the door noise went away. AIR TAB

After many frustrating attempts to stop the squeek by lubricating the door seals and tightening the door latches, it turns out that it was the window and the window frame in the door that was the culprit.
Try pressing with your hand on the wallboard surrounding the window, inside the coach, trying to make it squeek.
Man I hate chasing squeeks!

The subject was brought up during the summer and the suggestion worked for me. Like said above wrap electrical tape around the door striker and that will stop the squeak. You will need to periodically replace it.

2X on black electrical tape. I usually put 2 or 3 layers. Door stays quiet for 1 or 2 trips. You have to replace it after a while.

Wdweldon's tape fix worked for me.
We were on a RT66 trip this September. In Funk's Grove, IL I was ready to remove my door. The door squeak was driving me mad.
I remembered WD's tape fix. One wrap of electrical tape around the striker and the door was silent until the Painted Desert in AZ. I replaced the one wrap with two wraps and the door has been silent for the rest of the trip and the journey back home.

I have had the "drives me nuts" squeaks in both the entry door and drivers door. I use a very high tech solution - a thin layer of Vaseline on the striker.

I've got the same issue since day one, and though I've tried a lot of different remedies regarding the seals, striker bolt, door adjustment, etc, nothing has lasted more than 20 or 30 miles. I recently bought some Thetford Slide-Out Rubber Seal Conditioner. I got it primarily for the slide-outs but going to try it on the door seals. You never know... -RT

What used to annoy us was the squeak AND rattle that came from the screen door. Lubricants and powders did not work. What worked for us was cutting off the heads of small zip ties and wedging them in between the metal panel and the frame of the screen door. We used slightly larger ties to wedge into the gap of the metal grab bars. There are three across the door that when installed slide in and out (lengthen or shorten) to fit the width of the door; we wedged one into the gap on the top and one into the gap on the side, thus eliminating any movement. Now our screen door sounds like a freezer/locker door when we close it, and the isn't a rattle one while we lumber down the road.
