Shuddering Oasis door awning

My Oasis Elite electric awning works ok but shudders going in and out. More so going out. It's done this ever since buying the coach in 2010. It's a 2003 Journey 36GD. I'd lube it if I knew where. Anyone else had this problem?
Thanks for any help. .....Doug

Doug, I have/had a similar issue on my door Elite awning in that it stopped going out at all on one side but came in properly. I was thinking gears or other issues.

Thanks to advice here I oiled the heck out of the all joints on the arms and it now works fine. I used regular penetrating oil and several doses over a few days (plus working it in and out) and things got a lot better. I opened the awning half-way, hit everything on the arms, at the ends and in the middle joint especially, and worked it in by flexing the arms in and out. Repeat and repeat.

Guess all that road dust and dirt just took a toll...

Shuddering door Awning, now inoperative

Thanks Ed & Joie, I spoke a little too soon. Now ir won't go in or out electrically. I can hear a motor running but no movement. I now crank it in and out with the crank. Any thoughts?
Thanks, ...Doug

Sounds like the cheap plastic gear has gone. We replaced ours, had to buy complete assembly. $82

Our Oasis Elite does the same thing. I've been able to get some slight improvement by lubing every thing that moves on it.

BEABOP.......got a part number and source??

If the motor runs and makes clicking noise, it is the gear on left side out of motor,

Oasis awning model 974 series

When odering parts state model no,product no, tele number for dometic service center is 800-544-4881

Part number in 04 book is wrong, new number is 3310300.000

called cap roller tube left side cost was 87.84 plus 25 shipping. Price may have changed as we got this 4/21/09 (highway robbery as it weighed a few ounces)

We also had a problem at another time that water got into the bearing on the motor and it froze and DH took it apart and un froze it.

Hope what ever problems you folks have can be fixed by lube.

Good Luck B.
