Exclamation Search speedometer km/hour

I'm looking for my motorhome speedometer parts, graduated primarily in kilometers/hour.

For months I try but still nothing.

The Freightliner told me that the part number is KYS 7661 13001 01.

Does anyone know a supplier?

My RV is in the signature.

Attaching photos of my original speedometer in MPH.

Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas to all.

Have you checked with Winnebago? Freightliner also has a pretty good parts department, they gave you the part # but no idea if they have them?

I think the big drawback is looking for a km/h meter. How about having an overlay made up and put into the speedometer? A good speedo shop may be able to do it for you.

While the km/h speedometers are probably more found outside the U.S., you could also call some salvage yards and see if they have anything.

Is there any other information on it? Visone RV has a few "Freightliner Speedometers". Here's one:

Looks similar, but this sticker has a lot more information....like being from Borg Warner Automotive.

Having the part number KYS 7661 13001 01, ( the KYS in the number) means that the gauge cluster was made by Kysor Medallion instruments. They are now known as Medallion Instruments. The web site below may be of some assistance.

Get the diesel ScanGauge-D. It is a digital instrument you can configure to read 4 items on your diagnostic bus - either J1939 or J1708. You can read any 4 elements of the dash instrumentation then in either English or Metric measures so you can also get fuel in litres and temperatures in Celsius. They cost about $150 but will not give you an analog display. Likely a cheaper solution than changing instrumentation.

Most any HDT parts store should have one or order one. Take the old one in with you.

I'm with bobmac, there are options to replacing the speedo head, and with less problems when it comes to the re-sale of the coach.

My Rand Macnally RM7720 GPS has a , virtual dash setting that gives a digital speed readout that is much easier to see than the original speedo in my coach, and it automatically switches from KPH to MPH when I cross the boarder.

Not sure where it is or if it was used in your model year. On current models, it is below the dash around the steering column and a second port is along side the rear radiator for service access. You will need to search for the one under the dash. Suggest you post a new thread here seeking info from other UA owners. I think you will find the SCANGAUGE-D will give you all you are looking for and more for a reasonable price. You should also Google and download the manual as there is a picture of the ports in it. Good luck,

I don't think you'll find a typical OBD port on a diesel Class A. The Scangauge uses a 'T' connector to plug into an existing wire bundle. https://www.scangauge.com/support/user-manuals/

If the only think you want is a KPH scale instead of the MPH, Scangauge is a pretty expensive way to go. A speedometer shop can probably change out the gauge face for one calibrated in kilometers instead of miles. First time I drove a bus across the northern border I stopped at a visitor's center and was handed a clear sticker to put on the speedo face that showed the conversions.

I do not have at hand the motorhome, is in workshop for the revision, as soon as I will do a thorough search.

Thank you again.

The diagnostic connector your looking for is NOT an OBD II connection like your car or P/U. It's round , and grey with a screw on cap.

You will not find an OBD outlet, it is a Jxxxxx, I forget the designation, but it does not resemble an OBD port. This Jxxxxx port will be taped up under the dash above drivers left foot somewhere. It may be easier to locate it if you remove the dash cover so you may look down into the mess of wiring. I seem to remember it is taped to a dash brace along with other wire looms, including your CB radio coax and power supply wires.

After various evaluations (and thanks to your advice) I decided to buy the ScanGauge D. Ordered yesterday.
