Is it ok to leave a fridge on all the time on ground power or is that a bad idea.
Had to change fridge cooler coils and control board in the last six months all old and not working. Now it works great!

Will leaveing it on now be bad for it?

If you have a Surge Guard or any kind of surge protection, you should be just fine. If you knew what your system has experienced over the years it might explain why you had to rfeplace those items. On the other hand, the contacts and terminals will corrode and loose continuity which can cause component break downs. With the new components your fridge should give you reasonable service. When were not on the road, our coach is on shore power 24/7 with a Hughes Autoformer and Surge Guard in line on duty. This combination offers the the best protection for our electrical and electronic systems.

I left mine on all last summer as we went out nearly every other weekend.

The only thing I read in the frig's manual about this was to make sure the unit (ie the MH) is as level as possible. If the unit is not level enough the compound inside it will not flow properly and could cause damage to the unit.

My last coach I had for five years with a two door dometic and never had the refer off and there was never a problem, except for the freezer needing defrosting every few months. On my new coach I've have 14 months it to has almost never been off and it is the four door dometic, again so far not a problem.
Hope this helps!

I have mine pluged in 24/7 also with surgeguard protection. Had a circut borad replaced last year but I don't think it was because it was pluged in all the time though. Mine is a 2000 and my extended warranty picked up all but $50!
While cleaning the roof I bumped the plastic cover over the fridge and found it was brittel and a chunck broke off. It was three years old at the time, need to keep a check on that or water can get into the works. Have a Great Day!
