Rear end of slide out not fully retracted. Simple solution.

Three weeks ago the largest slide-out on our 38Q retracted all the way in the front, but left a two inch gap in the back. Worrying about a safety problem I contacted Winnebago. They assured me the problem could safely wait for a solution until our mid August appt. in Forest City.

Still worried, I finally READ THE MANUAL. Here they give simple procedure for separately activating the front and/or rear slide motors. Problem solved. The whole thing took less than ten minutes

The moral: If everything else fails, read the manual.

Amazing the things that one can learn from reading a manual. Glad you got it worked out.

Good Information.

We all know that reading the manual is not "the American way", but it can sure be helpful.

The instructions are in the thick supplemental Winnebago manual. Briefly there is button in the back (!) of the switch panel. When this button is pushed, the IN button controls the forward retration motor and the OUT button controls the rear motor. Note that this only works for PowerGear slides.

Thanks Arne. I don't have PowerGear slides. That explains why it's not in my manual.
