Propane Extend-a-Stay
Solved.....
2004 Itasca Meridian 34H...... I need to install a Extend-a-Stay on my coach but looking at it, it doesn't look there is a enough room between the Shut-Off Valve and the Regulator......
Never mind I have found the answer........... Thanks to YouTube
Thanks LeeB

Did your Meridian have the curbside LP quick connect from the factory? If so did you tie that in? I'm trying to figure mine out so It is not regulated, but haven't figured out where that quick connect taps into the system.

I installed my extend-a-stay. I have a 2005 Itasca.
I removed the regulator from the tank shutoff valve. I then installed the new extend-a-stay brass fitting on the tank shutoff valve and then installed the regulator to the other end of the extend-a-stay. This is the proper install location because grills, etc have their own regulators. This also allows you to feed LP, from a portable LP tank, to the coach LP system thru the coaches regulator.
The only problem I encountered was the original plastic protective cover that Winnebago installed over the regulator. I moved the cover to the right enough to use the 2 left most cover attachment holes to reinstall the cover. The 2 right holes are no longer used.
I did this install ~9 years ago and it has been trouble free.

This is the tap on my curbside. As it is now, it is regulated, but I don't think it taps anywhere near the tank, I think it is further downstream. I would somehow need to get that in front of the regulator.

My LP tank and tank connections are accessible behind a normal basement door.
You'll have to locate your LP tank and install the extend-a-stay between the tank valve and the regulator. This may make the extend-a-stay difficult to access to hookup hoses.

Ya mine too, but on the streetside. Not an ideal spot to tap in with a grille. I'll have to do some more hunting to find where the manufacturer tapped into to provide the curbside propane outlet, and maybe I can get that moved back in front of the regulator.

My LP tank is on the curb/door side.
You may have to consider a longer hose. LP suppliers can custom make them to any length. Maybe add a quick connect.

Word of warning to the wise.......
If you move the regulator, make sure it is supported in the new location.
I let my regulator hang free w/o any support.
Pulled into a Walmart one night and could smell propane.
Didn't think much of it at first, then got back out and checked my LP tank.
It had a good amount of ice on it, and I was in 80 deg. weather.
Road vibration had worked the LP connectors loose, and I lost most of my LP driving on the interstate.
Lucky nothing started on fire, I removed the extend a stay till I can figure out how to support the regulator in its new location.

Thanks for the post! I'll have re-look at what I was thinking.
At least you were losing it down the road. I'd rather have that than parked. It dissipates pretty fast at 60 mph

I find MB Sturgis to have a variety of adapters in including some with Quick Connects. I have the Sturgi Stay with Quick Disconnects and find them much easier and more convenient than the "legacy" Stay Awhile with the tiny 1/4" high pressure fitting for auxiliary tank that is difficult to connect any time, but especially so in cold weather. They have a variety of hoses and quick connect adapters.

Resulted in the regulator hanging free w/o any support.
After about 3,000 miles the road vibrations worked the fittings loose.
Lost a full tank of LPG but could have been far worse had the gas ignited.
I removed the adapter till I get a chance to extend the support to the regulator.

I have the 92 adventurer, 34' model wkg34rq. DP. I got the fittings off between the tank valve And the regulator, but the hose I bought from hardware won't fit on regulater, so I ordered a kit from Amazon, just hope it will connect to regulator. In meantime, no propane.

Turns out the fittings on both ends of regulator is only thing keeping regulator cover box in one place. It isn't secured to anything. But when fittings are tightened to it, it doesn't move at all, can't force it to move. But difficult to see clearly, location is low and door is small.
