Preferred Awning!

We recently acquired from my In-Laws a 2000 Southwind Storm. I need to replace the manual 20' awning. I'd like to know preferences on type & who to buy from.

Trying to get her ready for Full-Timing Travel by Summer 2016 when I retire.

Thanks!!

JMHO: Power awnings have to many shortcomings; can't be sloped for shade and water draining.
What exactly is the problem with the current awning, and brand ?
Repairing it may be way cheaper than a full replacement.

:welcome: So glad you found us.

Here is the Dometic site: Awnings, Screen Rooms & Slideout Toppers - Dometic Corp

This might give you some ideas. On the 2011 we have I am very pleased with the awning. The motion sensor is built into the awning and seems to work well. The arms can be adjusted for water drainage and adjusted for better shade if need be. You will have to pick up a power source if you go this route. Call or write to these folks for suggestions.

Happy trails and retirement.

Try tough top awnings in Vancouver WA. I just replaced all of my toppers and am super happy with both their product and their service. There is an article on you tube about awnings that will give you a lot of good info.

I like the A&E 9000 for a manual awning. Had them on the last two Dutch Stars. Got Tough Top replacement fabric for the slide covers. They went on easy and fit perfect. No idea about longevity but they were a better fabric than the OEM ones which lasted 10+ years.

Here is where I got all my replacement window awnings at. Good website, gives all the info you need for size and pricing and excellent customer service. They ship on time when promised and are responsive to questions!
