Check the switch itself to see if there is both power in and power out when pressing the switch.
If no power in, follow the wire back to the fuse, checking for a break.
If no power out then replace the switch.
If both are present then check at the motor to see if there is power there when pressing the switch.
If no power in then follow the wire back to the switch checking for a break.
If power in then it's probably time to replace the motor.

Awnings hang out and tend to take a beating when we travel in rain, so before I get too far on worry, I might suggest trying to wiggle the thing around and do a lot of lubing as things can get sticky pretty quick sometimes. Also a careful look at how the wires get here to there may show one has got caught in the retract mech the last time. Some are run up and down the track at one end and seem to be designed to stick out and get cut.

I admit it - Reading the owners' manual does help. Especially when I'm trying to extend the awning while the engine is still running.

Just wondering,
What year/make/model/chassis/engine etc. of the coach in question. What make awning? I ask because, similar coach/chassis etc. owners might have answers for you.

Ignition switch on AUX or ON will keep the awning from extending. I've had that happen several times.

Also I have left the ignition switch very slightly off to one side of the OFF position and the awning would not extend. It will retract.

Another one of those mystery posts from way back (8 months?) where the OP has never checked in again after asking the question. Reponses keep piling in but we will likely never hear what happened.

Sorry, that is going to be a tough one as we no longer get the full details on the newer units, so some guessing is about as good as we can get.

A few details do show up, so some testing will be needed to go much further.

I find the detail drawing for the control and that might be a place to start if you can get it out to check the wiring. Have you verified that it is a battery supply problem or just first checking that?
If you have a meter on hand I might favor checking the inputs to the control for battery and ground on these points.

A second way to go is by testing each fuse to make sure we are not missing a blown one as there appears to be none labeled for the awning.

Something to check might be by looking for one which is NOT shown on this drawing. The wire for the positive 12volt is FFD and the ground wire is FFE and that ground does show in this fuse group as being on the ground bus, even though the hot side is not shown.
That leaves me guessing that the hot side is there but just not labeled??

So do you see any fuses which are NOT listed on this drawing as that leads me to think it might be the one for the awning? There are lots of empty fuse spaces shown!

With no info on wire-by-wire schematics after the 2010 model years, we get into lots more guessing. With more complex wiring and more solid state items we are quickly reaching a place where DIY is not going to work very well!

Hope this will lead to finding the prize!
