Passenger Slide Inop '08 Destination

Re: Power gear / Kwikee

The only thing that has changed between the last trip and now has been the replacement of the passenger side awning arms.

Now, the right side slide will not open. I've transferred the controllers from each side, and the problem remains on passenger side. This is the RPE DigiSync Room Slide System. The operation manual is silent as to what to do next.

The left/drivers slide system is okay.

The Service Button has been reset - no effect.

What do I need to look at next?

Did you install the awning arms or did a service tech do that? I wonder if somehow a wire got cut or something. Is power getting to the slide motor?

Service tech did. There should be no feasible direct correlation between either event, unless of course there is.

So can you hear the slide motor... any sound at all or does it just seem dead? Need to determine whether you are getting power to the motor.

The problem has been isolated to the stuck rear slide lock. IF the lock is in place, the slide won't move. Further research in progress.

Problem solved. The passenger side rear slide lock was jammed against the the coach. Generous serving of WD-40 and gentle taps with a ball peen hammer loosened the jam.

All is swell again

Hmmm. A hammer and WD-40. The only thing missing is duct tape.

Congrats on the successful repair!
