Smile Our First Motorhome !!!

We made our first motorhome purchase today,a brand new 2013 Winnebago Vista 30T,and boy is it a beauty!!!...the coach is loaded !!!
We take delivery the 7th of Sept. Our shakedown cruise will be "bobtail"...I need to do more research on dragging a "toad".
This will be quite a change moving up from our 5th wheel and truck,I was amazed at the ease with which my wife handled the rig during the test drive and parking trials....! Anyway, thanks for the forum,I'm sure I'll find a wealth of knowledge within!............tom & eileen

That's a nice looking rig!

You are going to love the view out the front window as you travel around the country.

You are really going to like not having to pull over to use the bathroom.

Congratulations! You are going to love the ride! Winnebago makes a super fine product and they have some excellent support. There are several links on this site to helpful material.

We bought our 2007 Vectra 40TD last November and are in the middle of first long trip (3 months). There's been some snags, but nothing too bad. Just remember when you have home on wheels there's going to be things happen.

Good luck and safe travels....remember that attitude is the difference between and ordeal and an adventure

Ahhhh..... I think he's still going to have to pull over to go to the bathroom unless there is some new device at the driver's seat.....

Congrats! You have a lot of options for a Toad. We are pulling a Honda CRV with no problems and we never know it is back there. Good luck and have fun!

I hope you have as good an experience as we have had with our 2012 Class B ERA. We drove out of our Winnebago dealership and have only been back once. That was to get a squeak in the bathroom silenced ( which they did accomplish) and to say hi to all the great people there. Best of luck and enjoy your great new coach!

Hi -

This is the coach I'm also considering. Did you get the buffet with TV ? I hope you post often so I can learn from your experiences.

Welcome to the forum. And to ownership of a great size Winnebaqo.

We took delivery of our 2011 Vista 30 W almost 2 years ago and still love it. So far we've put about 11,000 miles on it and plan to add 4,000 or so more later this month and into October.

Not sure if this is allowed, but there's a thread on rv.net that was started by a Vista 30 W owner who has since traded it for a 30 T. Everything in that thread pertains only to the 30s and there's lots of good info there. It's in the Class A forum and titled 2010 and 2011 Winnebago Vista 30 W owners.

Agree that's you'll also find lots of good info in the Ford chassis forum, here.

Happy and safe travels.

Hi Bonnie!!,
we did indeed get the buffet table, and we love it! We just returned a week ago from Canada and Maine...we put 2800 -3000 on the coach and were very pleased with the way it performed. fuel mileage stayed between 7.5-8.1 mpg !
I found that NOT using cruise control actually allowed me to adjust the throttle to keep the transmission in 5th or 4th gear much longer. I'll post pics when I get a chance....my wife absolutely LOVES it!!!

Good one

You just have to persuade the DW to jump in the seat for a few minutes..On our way back home this fall we were stuck in stop and go traffic on the cross Bronx expressway on the way to the GW Bridge. I had my DW jump in the seat while I used the bathroom....well wouldn't you know it, as soon as I got in the bathroom traffic started to move!!!The DW sure did make a fuss till I got back.

I really like the layout of this unit. I test drove one yesterday at Beckley's and was a little intimidated with the size. I have driven a Class C for years and don't know if it's the seating height or the vast windshield that makes the lanes look narrower, but I was surprised. Good luck with your 30T! Are you able to swivel the driver's chair completely around?

Yes, both cockpit seats swivel completely for added seating...preparing for a 71 day Alaskan Caravan in June...this should be an adventure!!!

(after returning from California,Texas, and Louisianna over Thanksgiving and Christmas,we now have 12k plus on the rig and all is well!)

That should be an awesome trip!! Will look forward to reading about it. How many will be in your caravan? I'd love to do something like that when my wife retires.
