odometer switched to kilometers

With only 1064 miles on my new 2010 Winnebago Chalet, I pushed in the stick near the odometer to set the trip mileage. Green figures 3000+ appeared. Any attempt to reset only gets the engine hours, in green, then back to the 3000+ which is now at 5000+ since my trip. I suppose that the odometer has switched to kilometers. Surely there must be a way to switch back, but all I do has no result.

Push the two buttons on the lower right at the same time and that should do it.

There are no two buttons. This is a ford V10.

So much for Mr. Smarty Pants me!!

If you don't get an answer to your problem soon, I am meeting a friend today that has a Ford Chassis and I will check it out.

This is not working out!

I met with my buddy yesterday and asked him about switching from km to miles.

He said that you can't! He wasn't kidding! But, his is an older analogue dash.

So, I guess it is time to dig out the owners manual, unless someone else can help. Sorry!

You might try calling Ford. They have the following posted on the Ford web site. They say they can help resolve Ford Chassis - related concerns.

When you call the first thing they will ask you is "Are you in a safe place" as this is their towing hotline and they want to make sure you are not in danger.

"This 24 hour, seven-days-a-week hotline was designed to serve both motorhome owners and RV dealers. By dialing 1-800-444-3311, the caller has access to the nearest appropriate service location, assistance in scheduling a service appointment and service assistance for motorhome customers and RV dealers in resolving Ford chassis-related concerns."

Good luck - JD

You should have gotten a chassis manual. Look it up in that. The odometer display has a lots of very valuable info in it (on my Workhorse) and it is worth your while to go into it and see all of the possibilities. It will also inform your of necessary safety warnings. When my Workhorse recall braking failed (twice), this displayed TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE. It isn't complicated and you should spend some time figuring out what all it can do.l

This is not a Workhorse. It's a V10 Ford and the manual has very little info or directions.

Thanks for the info, especially the 800 number. Tuesday I take the RV to our local Ford dealer who my RV sales people said would not work on it. However, the local
Ford people seem eager to help me and say it should only take a few minutes to change. Stay tuned for my results.

Just a guess but it might be resettable in the test mode. To enter test mode press and hold the reset button on the cluster and turn the ignition switch on. Let up on the reset button and you should be into test mode.

If you want more info on test mode go here: http://www.focushacks.com/printable....iagnostic Mode Cluster Test and Diagnostic Mode

Went into the TEST mode without any trouble; however, this mode does not allow one to make any changes. I went to my local Ford dealer this morning but they were unable to make any change. The nearest Ford dealership that works on RVs is about 70 miles away. I'll call Ford motor Company first and see what they recommend.
