Norcold Refrigerator problems

After storing unit, the next time to use, it will not come on. I have taken it to RV repair shop and they told me that Norcold come out with add on cut out in series with the incoming line. This is a safety to keep from over heating and catching on fire. Once this switch trips you can't reset it. It has to be replaced again. The factory supplies it with out charge and it has to go through the service company. It has never happened while using it, it is after shutting down for storage and then the next time we go to use it, it won't come on. I have had it replace 3 times so far, I don't know how many times they will supply it free. Does anyone know about this scenario on this problem? That switch can be reset with a magnet

Do you give the motor home a bath maybe and get that box wet?

They do the magnet with no success, haven't washed it. They have to order part from factory.

Here is a link for the Norcold recall box reset. I'd question what your repair person is really doing. Have never heard of this nor is it on their web site.

Did you check the fuses on the circuit board?

There are 2 fuses in the black control box located in the upper left area of the exterior access. The cover is not that easy to remove due to wiring and water valve. They are on the right upper side of the control board. One is 7.5 amp and I am not sure about the other. If the 7.5 is blown the refer will not turn on.

Has any one tried to use ignition dryer and protectant? I got that switch wet last year and was able to reset with magnet. Got mh out of storage to get ready for winter trip south, found could not reset. It took a new switch and all is well . My switch is attached above the vents, but I am sure with the right rainstorm it would be possible to to get some moisture. I remember using ignition dryer on one of the older Chrysler products I owned years ago, and it worked. Just wondering??
