Need help looking for the right sealant for a 2007 winnebago roof.

I just bought a 2007 Winnebago Aspect. while I was cleaning it up I notice a coulple of seams that came loose. This seam is the one from the roof to the side wall. I read a few post on this and I am no sure what to do. Some people say to use 3M 4200 or 3M 5200. The problem with this is either one of these dont come in clear color. Winnebag said to used clear color on this part of the roof. I also have to do 2 roof cap corners that need sealant would anyone have a recomendation for this sealant. Sorry these pictures are sideways I was unable to rotate them.

Thanks Mike

Mike;

Give Winnebago Customer Service a call as they should be able to help you with your question. Their phone no. is 800-537-1885. Have your model and serial handy in case they ask for them. Good luck.

Looks like your roof is white. If so, I'd use the 3M 4200. For the painted areas I'd use a clear polyurethane caulk.

Go to Home Depot and buy Henrys 212 roof sealer. It is the same as what Winnebago uses from Canada.

Thanks everyone I talked to Winnebago and they said use a polyurethane sealer like ChasA said but did not recommend any brands. Can any body recommend a brand on this sealer? Also is that Henrys 212 that dengraham recommended can you get it in clear and white?
Thanks Mike

Henry 212 comes in clear, but don't know if it also comes in white. This is the sealer for the roof edge only, not other places on the roof--those require different sealers.

I have checked several Home Depot stores in Florida, they don't have Henrys. I suspect it's a regional thing.

FYI, for those who may not be aware of this resource. Go on the Winnebago website and you can find the caulks and sealants they use for all the applications on your coach.

You should be able to order it from the web and delivered to your local store:

Thanks guys for the informations on the Winnebago web site, and that I can order the Henry 212 on line and have it sent to my Home Depot store. I went to Home Depot tonight and they did not have the Henry 212 in stock.

Seal metal to fibergalss and fiberglass to fiberglass with Silicone 1. Use Clear with colors and White with white. Silicone 2 is not 100% silicone.
Your rubber roof is getting pretty old. There is a high quality DIY liquid rubber roof coating that works great. Covers everything like a giant 30 mill thick rubber blanket. It does not chalk or cause streaks, it is UV Resistant, and comes with a 10 year warrantee. I am happy with it.EPDM Coatings - Liquid EPDM Rubber Roof Coatings For Roof Leaks

MHO you need to pull up the caulk diagram from the Winnie web site for your model. The roof usually has 3 different types of caulk. On my 2007 Sunrise diagram they are A, B, & D. A is NuFlex 331 B is NuFlex 311 and D is Manus Bond 75 AM. The NuFlex stuff I can get a CampW but the Manus I can only get from Winnie. The Manus is the stuff for the roof side seams and comes in white and clear. The other NuFlex I believe may be in colors but the I have white.

It is not a rubber roof. And you should NOT use silicone. You need an elastomeric urethane based sealant/adhesive. Geocel Proflex is one I have found at many rv dealers, and recently used to reseal my roof corners. I need to find some more, or order the OEM stuff from Lichtsinn or Winnebago, so I can re-do the really sorry job a local dealership recently did on the roof side channels.

Thanks everyone for all this great information. I had to put the roof off for a day or two because of rain. This will give me a chance to get the sealant.

Â*The Home Depot

Try looking in the roofing or masonry area.

I have a DAP Crystal Clear roof/flashing/siding/windows.... caulk I bought at Lowe's that may do the same job. I have not had a chance to use it yet.

I suggest getting a good caulking gun to do this job with. The cheap gun did not give me enough precession control for the job.

The product you use for the roof edge can be used along the slide trim that runs from front to rear (over the wheels strip).

For the rubberized self leveling caulk around the skylight, fans, antenna, etc. can be cleaned with mineral spirits.

Happy maintenance!

If I recall, I found the Lowe's caulk in the paint department on the top shelf. The tube is clear and says "Crystal Clear" in black (hard to see) print at the top of the tube.
