Replaced Bedroom TV
When we purchased our coach, I replaced the tube tv in the bedroom with a small LED tv. Finally got tired at looking at a dinky screen. So I built a new front for the tv cabinet and mounted a larger one. It's mounted on a door that I built, and I turned the space behind into storage.

Great upgrade.
Too funny though. I pulled mine out and made a cabinet in the space for DW. Never watched the thing. Different strokes...

Jealous of DW Nightstand no more. Our Sightseer has nightstands on both sides of our king bed. My DW's side came with 4 drawers in it. Mine had a stupid opening that stuff always fell into. Finally resolved the problem. Now I have a place to keep my earplugs in. Filled in the Open Box and added 3 drawers and a door.

Two Simple Entry Door Mods
Here are a couple of entry door mods that you may find helpful. One is to help those who are vertically challenged or children who can't easily reach the door handle. The second is a magnetic "latch" to hold the door open.
My wife is wheelchair bound and, although we have a lift, she can't reach the entry door handle from her chair. I drilled a hole in the handle and attached a pull cord -- problem solved. Currently it's just knotted behind the hole but, before we leave on our next trip, I'm going to attach it with a small carabiner so it can be removed for travel.
Of course, the first time I tried it, it didn't work. I'd forgotten to unlock the door -- Duh!
Now I need to figure out how to install a lower, supplemental lock that my wife can reach. A simple deadbolt could work. Being at the bottom it won't be as secure as the main lock but would be OK while we're in the campground.
The white disk below near the bottom of the first photo is one half of a Home Depot magnet that I attached to hold the door open since my wife can't easily exit to unclip and shut the door when it's latched open. The other "half" (second photo) is mounted in place of the rubber bumper with a piece of 1/2" marine plywood under it (UV protected plastic would be better). She can now close the door from inside by levering it with a stick. I covered it with a piece of white tape to reduce the magnet's power. This was another simple mod.
I can't remember but I think I bought the 25 lb magnet:

Bob C, Great mod, Going to put that one in my back pocket. Got a thought about the deadbolt. Perhaps if you used a metal backing ring on the inside of the door for the deadbolt, it may be more secure even if at the lower door area, or possibly something like this that could be placed higher. https://www.amazon.com/Morning-Indus...12&ref=sr_1_12

My ‘16 Sightseer 35G nightstands had NO drawers and only a few inches of top to sit anything on. The king bed was taking up way too much space for little to no value. I cut the platform to fit a queen size, no mod needed for the support frame as it is already 60” wide. Making new roomier nightstands with two drawers each and a more substantial top (in progress).
It should be a great improvement. Note that I checked with WBGO about their bigger stock nightstands for the queen size bed and they were asking ballpark $1k for them. No thanks.

Storage, bathroom
May install a storage type medicine chest in the bathroom to replace the 26.5” square mirror that’s there now. It just seems to make sense as an easy mod. I’m sure the wall is not a good structure base for screws to hold it but maybe a combination of a few screws along with some industrial strength Velcro.
Anyone done this already? Comments?

I see a lot about how great Winnebago is by being able to supply just about any part but the prices are prohibitive. It's a good thing I have the tools and ability to make cabinets and other stuff.

There probably are some internal studs so I suggest using a stud finder and see if there's something to anchor it to. Also, I'd use foam mounting tape instead of Velcro. If you want to be extra sure, you can use 3M VHB tape. It's very strong.

I know for a fact that my replacement nightstands will be substantially more robust than OEM. Don’t know about the ‘02 era but the ‘16 cabinetry is not very heavy duty (trying to be kind in describing). Yes, I know weight saving is important too.

Many RVers have purchased pre-fab cabinets from Lowes or Home Depot and installed in their RVs. Cheaper than OEM for sure.

That's what I did in my TT when I had to change out a base cabinet next to the entry door so the cabinet door was re-oriented 90 degrees so it wouldn't interfere with mounting a heater. If you were real picky, you might notice that the oak stain was a little different but, if you were real picky, you could probably fix that.

Mud Flaps
So I decided that having no mud flaps offended my sensibilities, it just didn’t seem right. Yesterday I installed a set of 24”x30” truck flaps picked up from a local truck stop chrome shop. Had to jack the rear to help with access for my drill motor but they fit ok with minor trimming. They seem kind of floppy so only time will tell if they have any great effect, other than restoring my sensibilities,....for the moment.

Finally finished new homemade nightstand install today. Now we have drawers where there were non and gained 5.5” on each side of the bed. Threw out the king and installed a queen memory foam.
