Maintenance Tasks for the weekend

I got my new to me 01 Journey back from the dealer and am finally getting a chance to work on some maintenance items.
1) took the bed out and removed the engine covers to wash the CAC and radiator. That was VERY dirty. So mugh dirt came out it left sediment in my driveway where the water ran down. And not a little sediment. Also washed the engine covers.
2) greased the fan bearing while I had the bed out and was in the engine bay.
3) greased all the zerks on the front end
4) washed the transmission cooler
5) washed the A/C condenser

Gonna have a cold one and start trouble shooting the TVs.

I tell you, you gotta love these things to do all the stuff that needs doing. But, it sure feels good when you get everything caught up and she purrs along nicely down the road.

Im starting to love my Journey too. Its been a rough first three weeks of ownership since it broke down 4 times the first weekend we had it (blown ignition fuses). But the service department at the dealer where I purchased it has responded remarkably and I think they have it fixed.

Im now starting to work on the punch list of items I can fix and since Im a bit of a hobbyist mechanic, I'm really enjoying it.

Gents,
Without this "tinkering" or, actual self generated maintenance, you do so much. You learn about YOUR rig, things get done and for the most part, get done right. More often than not, while you're in there on a project, you see other stuff that needs attention. Getting all caught up is satisfying but, some times not all that easy. The inside, depending on how things are and have been maintenanced, is usually the easiest. But, the outside, the body, the engine, undercarriage, suspension, engine/trans etc. get tougher and more involved. It's often time consuming and dirty, but, as stated, when it's all said and done, the feeling of being DONE and, knowing it's done right really makes one feel good about your rig. I do as much as possible within my talents, tools, available space and more, oh yeah my age, and it's very pleasing.

Congrats on the new Journey.

Sounds like yours is a candidate for extending the slobber tube behind the radiator. This tube is usally the culprit for gunking up the CAC and radiator.

Yes it does need the slobber tube extended. Its on the list.

Also fully extended the leveling jacks and sprayed them with silicone spray.

And flipped the mattress when I put it back.

I'm done for the day. Feeling good about all the progress today.

FIRE UP,

I have been buying used cars to fix up for awhile so I decided to move up to a DP MH.

Its great to know that the work was done and done right. Its also nice to tackle a tough job like greasing the fan bearing, since you are going to do it a lot and you might as well learn how. After the first time the rest just get easier.

I ran out of things to fix, so I've been breaking stuff, just to have something to do.

I have a dilemma though. Do I tell my therapist about this or just live with my problem?
