I got locked out of my 2007 Adventurer one time at a C/G. There was another Adventurer there, so I asked them if I could borrow their keys. I then "bumped" my lock, opened in under 30 seconds. Lesson learned, the door lock (not the deadbolt) is master keyed, and are the easiest to open. This is not a trade secret, so someone with criminal intent already knows that.

We have been "accidently" locked out of our Journey a couple of times ... it happens because on our door latch handle the little red knob for the "night latch" can get bumped if you are not paying attention when you open the door ...

There are at least three good places to hide a key (on a Journey at least) ... front hood, refrigerator vent door, and LP compartment.

I have keys for our deadbolt and night latch hidden on our Journey ...they have been there for 12 years ... I have used them more than once

Bit off topic, but... We were staying in an RV park and saw a neighbor who had experienced a lockout on a fiver. There was a group of people trying to problem solve. After a group head scratching, the owner "violated" a roof vent and lowered a kid head down through the vent over the bed. The kid unlocked the door. Lots of hooping and hollering. The kid felt like a hero which she was.

÷1 to putting a spare door key in the refrigerator vent space. Haven't had to use it yet thankfully.

Door locks, locking themselves on campers, is not uncommon. I always recommended to my customers to keep a spare set hidden on the camper. I told them not to use the refrigerator vent. We found spare keys in the ref. vent on about a third of the refrigerators we removed. I also told them to hide a spare door key for the toad. (on the toad.) When we went out west, there were places we visited that had no cell service and no one around for miles.
