I agree with Miller7. My first set of tires had premature sidewall cracking. Michelin covered them fully - I only paid for labor. The tire dealer said it looked like they had sat for too long in one position - I bought after it sat for several months on a dealer's lot. The tire guy said to just start up and move it a few inches every couple of weeks. I was thinking that may be great for tires, but not for the diesel. So, I asked if taking some weight off the tires with the jacks would suffice. He said that would be even better. No more tire problems since I started doing that many years ago.
So, short answer is: there is no need to level in storage, but there can be a side benefit.
