Leaking water through AC vent

The last couple of times it has rained water is leaking in through our AC vent in our bedroom. Of course it's on the DW's side of the bed. I recently went up and cleaned the AC fins, since then we have the leak. All I did wash gently rinse the fins off. Also it only seems to leak when the AC is running. Any suggestions for why I'm leaking now would be greatly appreciated. I have a 2012 Itasca Ellipse 42QD.

You need to remove the inside grille and tighten up on the 4 mounting bolts a little. It has a compression gasket and it might need a little more compression

I would like to add, check your water drain for debris clogging it also.

I would suspect the water drain on the 2012 model, If like my 2013 Journey they are plumbed with a tube that discharges the water below the coach. It could be clogged.

If it only leaks during the rain, then probably not the drain.

Gasket underneath is one entry point. Tighten bolts if too loose.

If getting in thru edges, some tape will help.

If yours is like mine, there is a seal under the fan motor. That motor drives both internal fan and external fan. We had that seal replaced after we were able to prove that was where it was leaking.

If you want I can try to find that part number as it isn't a very common point of failure.

Shaft seal .... 8333-383

The seal looked like a $ 0.04 piece of foam, but it was the right size and shape for the need.
