Currently, our 2004 Journey 34H only has one outlet that is powered by the inverter (as far as I can tell) and it is at the forward TV.
I would like to add/convert so that more outlets are powered.
First question is: what inverter do I have and where is it located.
Second question is: what have others done to upgrade their Journey.
I would like to eventually add some solar panels also.
According to the 2004 Journey Brochure the 34H came standard with a 55-amp converter/charger and a 300-watt inverter, with an optional 2000-watt inverter/charger available.
As can be seen in the TV/VCR, Front Wiring Installation diagram the 300-watt inverter is located in the right front overhead compartment next to the TV. According to page 2 of the Body, 110 Volt Wiring Diagram that inverter has outlets in the front overhead for the front AV equipment as well as an outlet in the bedroom for the bedroom TV. That inverter is unlikely to be able to power much more than it already is.
The optional 2000-watt inverter/charger would have a separate breaker panel and would power most of the outlets in the coach (see page 3 of the Body, 110 Volt Wiring Diagram).

We have a 2002 Journey with the wiring set up like yours. Ours does not have the optional 2000-watt inverter/charger either.
I am going to mount and wire a 2000 watt inverter in the shore power bay. Then, just plug my shore power cord into the inverter when needed. You will need to control what gets power from the inverter. This can be easily done by switching off breakers inside the coach you don't want to power. This was an easy solution to our problem and might be an option for you to consider.
