ISL boost pressure

Those who have the ISL 400, what do you see on the boost pressure gauge? At wot (wide open throttle) climbing a hill. The most I have seen is @ 35 psi, is that normal? The gauge goes to 50, should I be seeing more?

I don't own a Cummins powered MH right now, got a yellow engine. Worked for Cummins for many years and 30 to 35 psi is about right for that application. Have seen piston air craft engines go as high as 50 inches of mercury.

I have seen our ISL go briefly to 50 inches and then back off to about 25 and then down from there. Punching into a 30 mph wind last summer out West our boost stayed at 25 inches for hours I think our fuel economy was down to about 5.5 for that run.

I wish I had a boost pressure gauge. I don't have a tranny temperature gauge either. I really miss both.

jimandsue60....My gauge goes to 30 and at full boost, the dial goes past 30 to where 35 would be if there was one.

I found that I actually have 2 boost indicators. The gauge on the dash and an electronic one that comes up with engine parameters in the electronic display. I will monitor that during our travels tomorrow.

If you run a laptop or have one, look into the VMSpc engine monitoring software from a company named Silverleaf. It is really inexpensive, works great, and gives you more engine diagnostics than you know what to do with. I have a few pics in my gallery of what the software looks like. Well worth the money.

I watched the digital display and it showed 37 Psi a couple of times, all is good.
