We purchased a Here-To-Anywhere Sirius unit W/a dash mount antenna. With the nearly flat windshield, it works marginally. I called Sirius to see if I could mount this antenna on our roof and they said "yes". It's magnetic but will not do anything for us with the fiberglass roof so I thought about glueing W/epoxy? The technician said I'd have to install a mylar strip to ground it. Is this necessary?

Not sure what Winnebago you have. I put the ant up above the front cabinets on the metal shelf that rund accross the front. Sirius radio works great. No signal loss. Have Kenwood Plug/Play unit. Set on dash. Mounted to a nice piece od wood as a balast so I did not have to drill any holes in dash.

Recommend you troubleshoot radio & connections - I have had no problems with sat GPS rcvr reception with antenna on dash halfway to front windshield or in overhead AV compartments. Of course I am on a FORD chassis...
Ghost.. your GPS will work better than Sirius as there are a lot more satellites being received for GPS. My Sirius works without problems with the magnetic antenna mounted above the tv on the metal framework under the front cap (without a mylar strip conmart371).
I use XM. I first placed it on the dash and it faded in and out. Read here about putting it in the overhead above me. It worked OK but we have tall tree lines here in VA and it would fade when traveling north. Finally installed it on my roof running wire thru roof and down the pillar post. Works great no fade. I used industrial double sided tape and then ran silicone sealant around the base.
I installed my Sirius antenna on the roof. I fastened it down with silicone sealant. Ran the wire across the roof, in the door, and then tucked it into the trim to bring it across the dash. Works well. Doesn't need a magnetic base or ground plane to work.
