How to read OBDII codes on my 97 Winnebago Adventuer

I have a 97 Winnebago Adventure and trying to figure out the OBD
connector located next to the steering column. My VIN is
1GBLP37N3T3315071 Model WCG32WQ. The connector is the shape of OBDII and several OBDII code readers have been pluged into the outlet, but it does not work. They keep indicating to turn the key to on. There are only 3 pins that are present in the connector, unlike most OBDII plugs which have most of the pins filled.
Some techs say that it could be a hybrid of OBDI but they are not
sure. If you need, I can tell you exactly which pins numbers are
filled in. Just trying to figure out how to read codes.

I contacted Winn Industries and they offered little to no help.

My 1997 Adventurer is NOT OBD-2. The OBD-1 connector is under the doghouse, driver's side, approx. where your right foot rests when on the gas pedal.
This is on the F53 platform.

FWIW, our Buick is OBDII and there was no connection to a reader. I found the fuse was blown. In this case the fuse was also for the 12v outlets.

Sounds like you have volts tho'. Hmm Did you in fact "turn the key on'?

I used to have a 97 Gulfstream on a ford chassis and I had the same problem... could not read from the connector under the dash....found out that the chassis was a 96 and could only read from under the hood....look around and see if there's a port....btw I looked high and low for a blown fuse, never found one

Grant & Pat. Thanks but mine is on a Chevy Chassis not a Ford. So this link would not apply.
