Just about finished with removing the old roof caulk on my 05 Journey.
Anyone have hints on the easiest way to apply the 2 inch eternabond?
Do you cover up the rain gutter? or try to get the edge of the tape in the bottom of the J gutter and press it to the back side and under the 90 degree dog leg the best you can?
Do you start in the channel and work up or on the top and then down to the channel?
I never cover up gutters with it i just go to the edge but make sure it is clean i have had good luck with lacquer thinner on a rag to clean with .
A roller really helps to roll it down with i use a wooden one that i got at Lowe's that is made to roll edge banding on the edges of plywood there like $7.00 remember it has to be pressed or rolled fairly hard to activate it and get good adhesion.
Thanks for the info... It sounds like I have been going down the right path.
Have been using lacquer thinner to clean with, already have a 1-1/4 roller for wall paper seems and I cut a paint stir stick at a 45 and rounded the edges for pressing the tape into the gutter. Also have the heat gun, works great on removing the caulk.
Believe I will start the edge in the bottom of the gutter and then work up over the roof.
We are talking about the roof to sidewall seam, right?
I have full body paint and was considering doing mine as a pre-emptive measure on the seal. I also have some clearcoat issues, that I think this would cover up. Eternabond has a gold/tan 2" wide roll, now, that would probably look OK?. Does anybody have any pictures of this install?

Thanks for the photos! I can't tell anything has been done (that's a good thing!) Are the photos after paint? I was considering using 2" Tan, and possibly not painting.

Yes I brush painted the webseal as it is needed to protect it agains UV
I considered using the beige/tan eternabond as well, it is however very
light in color. I bought a roll but decided against it once I saw the actual color. That would not have blend in well with my coach colors.
