Help on locating Freightliner hub cover 22"

I just broke down and replace my tires on my 2005 Journey 36G. I felt that 7 year-old tires was "pushing" my luck. But, as you might guess, the installer didn't replace one of the front axle hub covers properly and I neglected to check them before hitting the road. Anyone know where I can order a replacement one, you know, the 22" "moony" with the Freightliner emblem in the center? Preferably cheap or used.

If you can't find one with the Freightliner emblem at a truck stop call Freightliner @ (864) 206-8584 and Todd (parts dept.) will sell and ship you one.

I'm a stickler for having things match, so I ordered one thru our FL dealer that had the logo in the center like the rest of them. About $30. Also, on those front hubs, I squeezed a small dab of GOOP on each holding clip to prevent them from loosening. They still pry off when you need them to.

I ordered one through the dealer I bought the Winnebago from. I don't remember the price but it was up there for that little "decal."

I must not have put it on right. Sometimes when i stop it is upside down, and some times it is right side up. Can't figure it out.

The other side hub(s) never match!!

Suncircles,
Well Sir, I had close the same situation when I lost my right front one. I looked on ebay, C/L and any other media I could find. Well, after doing an inquiry just like you are, I finally resorted to ordering up one from a local Freightliner dealer. They have plenty of hub covers, plain, in stock. But, the ones with the Plastic "Freightliner" emblem in the center, they have none and don't stock them. So, about $32.00 and two days later, I installed a new one.

I did make sure the little tabs had enough tension on them when I installed it. I then pulled of the opposite side and re-increased the tension on those tabs so it fits tighter too. Since then, we've been on a couple of trips and they're both still there. Kind of an expensive mistake.

SCVJeff,

I don't know if it would be worth it but, maybe a call to an RV junk yard might reveal a source or, they could send you a bunch of those tabs. Sorry but, that's the best I can offer.

Most "real" truckstops has them. I-75 Chrome also has them in Florida. They have a website.

If you don't need the ones with the "Freightliner" emblems, the generic ones mentioned in this thread work great as the people across from us in an RV park a few months ago with a Journey bought these and showed them to us and, really, if nobody had said anything, I would have never noticed that they didn't have the Freightliner emblem on them as they look pretty sharp as you can see by the photo that one guy took in that thread. They told us that they fit a lot tighter so the chances that they'd fall off are less than the OEM ones. They bought two and put them on each side.

They've gone up a little in price at the TruckChrome website as they're now $5.89 apiece.

I'd be okay with these but I'm thinking DH probably would be like most of you guys and want the Freightliner ones just so everything matches and you "guys" want everyone to see that FREIGHTLINER name on the wheel, right?

Thank all of you for suggestions on hub covers.

Great suggestions from all. Freightliner - Tollison did not have in stock and would order. Neither did Freightliner - Chandler have them in stock. Was unable to find any 22.5" in truck junk yards or RV junk yards. RV Renovators in Mesa, AZ, had the plain "baby moon" 22.5 inch hub covers, but wanted $22 each! (Suggest not shopping there.) Ordered two "plain baby moons" from Truckchrome, as suggested by amanda_h.
Thanks again, all!!!!
