Grease/Lube Question
Several folks on here have helped me with information on how to change my surge tank. I can't thank you enough. The new tank is in and all is well.
Now for my new question. I still have the bed removed and the engine cover off. What other maintenance work can I accomplish before putting everything back together. I have read hear that the fan needs lube? How do I do this and what else should I consider before closing everything up? Thanks in advance for all suggestions!

May be a good time to inspect belts, tensioner, hoses, and anytrhing else in sight. Don't forget to inspect any wire harness that you can see for rodent damage.

My thoughts exactly. Also, check connections at the back of the alternator for tightness. Lots of vibration back there so, things can loosen over time.

If you haven't cleaned the radiator/CAC, now's a good time to do it. For me, it's easier to spray Simple Green through the fan (not running) from inside the engine compartment into the charge air cooler (radiator) and thoroughly soak it. Some people prefer to spray from underneath into the airstream with the engine running.
Either way, let it sit for awhile and then flush with a garden hose from the backside, sort of a reverse flush until water coming out the bottom is clear. Check by hanging a trouble light inside and viewing light from outside, if you can't see the light, there's still clogged areas.
I just re-read your post and you can lube the fan drive with the zerk at the top, just in front of the fan pulley. It's a tight fit for a regular grease gun fitting so I ground a flat spot on mine to make it fit. Don't grind too much or you'll have to buy a new end. A couple of squirts of grease once a year is all it takes.

Thanks for all of the advise. From searching other threads, I understand that there is a guide put out by Freightliner that will show specifically the location for all of the grease fittings for each chassis by year model. If that is true, where would I find it?

Just to add a little more detail to okie-dokie's post, after you get to the Freightliner Custom Chassis werbsite:
Choose RV chassis, then Owner Information. They have a document called "Knowing Your Chassis" that can be downloaded as a PDF file. There's a lot of information about your chassis that's good to know, including the lubrication points.
Good luck.

There's also a few lubrication points on the turbo. Need to use a special lubricant or at least that's what tell say.
