front air bag problem

Hi folks.
I have an 1994 Warrior, 26'. Getting her ready for a camping trip on Wed and noticed the driver side front air bag has a hole in it. The passenger side bag is still at 60's.

I'm unable to get it in to the shop in time for our trip. Will it be ok to drive it ? We are only going about 80 miles away.

Thanks, John

Yes. Take it easy and have a good time. When I bought a 1988 Winnebago I drove it back from tn to sc with both front bags blown. When I bought by current unit, both bags were bad, took on several short trips before getting them replaced.

Thanks for your reply ! Should I let the air out of the other air bag or just leave it inflated ?

Thanks, John

I would suggest airing down the passenger bag. Worse than having bad suspension geometry is having it only on one side. With air in just the one bag the RV will not steer as it normally would.

Also, when you get ready to replace the bags, check your clearance between the control arm bumper, and the bumper stop above it. You should have about 2 1/2 inches clearance. If you don't have that much, plan on putting coil springs on. If you replace the bags with the front springs collapsed like that, it will pinch holes in the new bags. Hope this helps...

If you run with no air for vary long then figure on replacing both bags. Instructions are to never run with the bags flat as it can rub holes in them.

Excellent point Mr_D. My apologies, I should have been more specific when I said air down the other side. I should have said air down to the minimum of 5-10 psi. This will keep the bag from rubbing or coming dislodged.
