Fogged drivers side windows.

Like many of you I have a serious issue with the flat windows on my drivers side fogging to the point I have difficulty seeing the mirror due to the fog and resulting reflections.

Has anyone tried replacing the double windows with single pane as is found on our cars and trucks?

I have not done it, but have seen a coach where it was done. The owner removed the frame and went to an auto glass shop. He said they cut a piece of safety glass to fit and he reinstalled the window and frame. It looked good. I don't know what it cost him.

If you want your double panes fixed, go to SunCoast Designers in Hudson, FL. They do a great job at a reasonable price. Guaranteed also.

Mine have never fogged, but I have heard of many satisfied customers of Suncoast. Also, FYI, Lazydays also has an enclosed "clean-room" in one of their buildings, where they do the same work of disassembling the window, cleaning the panes, installing a new seal and sealing them.

Have no idea of the price, but it's probably abou the same as Suncoast... somewhere around $300 per window, as I have been told. That was to remove, repair, and re-install.

our forward passenger side double pane window was so fogged that the outside rear view mirror was unusable.
we did not have the time or money to travel somewhere to get the window repaired.
i read on this forum and others that it was possible to break out the inner pane and leave the outer pane intact.
i taped a large garbage bag along the bottom of the window casing and taped the inner window with duct tape. one hit with an automatic center punch in the lower right corner shattered the inner pane of the window completely.
most of the window was stuck to the duct tape and was easily removed. there were shards of glass stuck in the old window seal that were difficult to remove with a small screwdriver and ice pick. we used a vacuum cleaner to pick up what did not get caught in the garbage bag.
we used black silicon sealant to form a bead around the inside of the outer window pane.
we used bartenders friend and windex to clean the window.
the mirrors are useable again as the window is clear.
the outer pane is not tinted.

I got new glass from Atwood (linked above) for some of the windows on a pace arrow we had, great service, low cost (for brand new).
It was a peice of cake removing the window unit, disassembling it, replacing the bad panes and putting it all back together.
