External trim separated from side panel

It appears that someone opened their door against the trim around the rear passenger side wheelwell if our 2016 24J View. This caused about a 16 inch length of the top of that trim panel to separate from the side coach panel.

I sent pictures of this to the parts folks at Lichstinn, who then sent me a picture of the bracket they said holds that panel on. I replied that the panel is separated from the bracket. They advised that the trim is somehow glued to the bracket and/or side panel of the RV.

Anyone else run into this and have any recommendations on how to get the trim yo stay in place against the side coach panel?

I’ve attached two photos to help clarify what I’ve tried to explain.

3M VHB tape? RV and other manufacturers use it to adhere entire sidewall panels and other fixtures:

Don't worry about buying more than you need, it's handy to have around.
