Entry door blind quit retracting

Have a 2011 30' Vista with an entry door blind that pulls down and hooks on a lip at the bottom of the window.
So.. as all good things do, it quit retracting. Since all other blinds were MCD my assumption was this blind was also a MCD.. Nope, this blind is made by Carefree and as with all things motor home, Carefree no longer makes the blind.
Has anyone had this problem with a spring loaded blind and how did you solve the problem?

Winnebago still uses the same part number on current models.

Not sure on yours but mine quit working last summer. I took it off and the spring inside was not tight enough. So I took a small pair of pliers and tighten it up some. Works like it did when it was new now.

You should be able to find one at a hardware store that will work.
MCD also makes one for entry doors. It pulls up instead of down.

I've had two Winnebago's . . . and when the door shades began to work poorly, I just lubricated it at the two points of wind-unwind. 3-in-1 oil works good, just a drop or two.

I had the same problem with the door blind and lubricated each side of the roller with a quick shot of silicon spray. Fixed the problem and blind works fine.

Searching for solutions to the same problem and ran across this thread. Used T9 and the shade zips right up now...
